Fall Back

I tend to be more of a spring forward gal myself but I am trying to get more on board with wearing flannel and curling up at home with a good book reality show.  I do not love that it gets dark now at 5:30pm but I am trying to adjust.  Here is what I have been doing!

I try not to get all pumpkin crazy, but Rouge’s Pumpkin Patch Ale is in a class all its own. If you see the bright orange bottle I suggest you pick it up.

IMG_4109 More pumpkin carving. I am not quite sure what this is or was supposed to be… looks like goblin babies inside of a skull.IMG_4111 Have you heard of the Hotel Majestic in San Francisco? I am going to go out on a limb and say that you probably haven’t in which case I am going to give you a real good tip.  This place should become the place you take any out of towner to or maybe a friends outing or date date. Whatever the case may be, Mike the bartender will show you a spectacular show and provide you with fantastic cocktails. IMG_4115 Want a spicy cocktail…? He can do that!IMG_4117 Want something sweet and sparking, he can make that too!IMG_4119 One of my favorite breweries in the city is Magnolia and a few saturdays back I was able to steward a home brewing competition.  Stewarding is a fun way to get to know more about home brewing, connect with local home breweries in your area and in this specific case have some amazing Magnolia Brews and BBQ.IMG_4122 IMG_4123 IMG_4124 IMG_4126 The Los Gatos Creek Trail  is a great place for walkers and joggers a like to get in some cardio.IMG_4127 IMG_4128 Followed by a Mocha with homemade whip cream of course! I like to live large at Great Bear Coffee.IMG_4129

Weekly Favs

Near my office in Oakland is a fun little spot called MUA.  We had mussels and fries which I was a bit scared to try as I had never had them before but I was pleasantly surprised it was really good. In addition to the mussels and fries we had a green bean sandwich .. sounds strange but it was delectable. Their beer selection on tap was soso but I was pleasantly surprised with their bottled beer selection. The cream stout I had was delicious and maybe a tad too much for a lunchtime drink ;).IMG_4049 IMG_4050 IMG_4052 IMG_4054While waiting at Plow we walked around for some exercise and look at this cute bench we found halfway up the hill. I imagine it comes in handy when walking up the hill with groceries in hand.
IMG_4060 Do I have too many favorite places… probably. Plow is famed for being one of the best brunches in the city and I have to agree. The ‘Plow’ breakfast is to die for. If only I could eat this everyday. Actually scratch that.. it would be problematic. IMG_4063 IMG_4064 IMG_4065 Pumpkin Carving. YAY. I love Mickey sitting in the window.IMG_4069 IMG_4070 IMG_4079 IMG_4077 Had a chance to go to Hollow over the weekend when I was out with Mickey on a walk and it was so delicious. I can’t wait to go back.IMG_4080 IMG_4081 IMG_4082 A batch of Pumpkin Brownies to take the sting out of Monday.
