Oh Hello Beautiful blue ocean!! I have missed you so much!
I miss my family like C-R-A-Z-Y but I have loved being home in the city.
I love every bit of my life here. Walking to the market and boba. Running to and at the beach. Seeing and catching up with friends. This is my element.
I ran and walked along the beach last night, laughed into the salty air and spread my arms wide to embrace the Pacific.
SO in love with the little, simple things I do that make up my life.
The excerpt below from Rustin Larson felt like me.
I love running in the morning when the marine layer is still thick.
I love the salty breeze on my face.
I love the inner radiance I feel after a nice long run in nature.
Nothing can beat the feeling.
Last night my friend and I were driving home and as we were driving we noticed the amazing colors in the sky – so we raced towards the beach to view the sunset.
By the time we got to the beach the sun was just about gone – but we were still amazed.
Sometimes I forget how lucky I am and nights like this remind me.
Remind me – to be present in the right now and take joy in my life.
Just let life happen.
For foggy mornings when I have no place to be.
For friends who love me when I act fairly un-loveable.
For my body that allows me to move and explore.
For living near trees and the sea-even in the big city.
For basketball and loving my team win or lose.
Happy for life and how I am living. For the ability to go outdoors. For BASKETBALL.
Now its time to watch OKC play the Golden State Warriors.
“I cannot endure to waste anything as precious as autumn sunshine by staying in the house.” – Nathaniel Hawthorne
As nights start to get longer I am trying to take advantage of the little slivers of day where I can enjoy the sun.
Sitting in the sand, basking in the autumn sun I feel so happy to be alive and I want this feeling to last forever.
Why I Love November
and hate it
Days are shorter and colder
Runs in the twilight
Roasting my buns by the fireplace
and days like yesterday when the sun is shinning but the air is crispy and falley.
So in love with it.
There are some days, where I think to myself – man, today was a good day.
Yesterday was one of those wonderful days – from start to finish. I kept singing Ice Cube’s hit single from the early 90’s, It was a good day. If you haven’t heard it – check it out!
The sun was shining bright so I took a stroll to Ocean Beach. I just sat in the sand for awhile watching the surfers catch some waves, wishing I was out there and not such a ninny when it comes to cold water and sharks! Despite these fears I love spending time at the beach, smelling the salty air and feeling the wind whipping against me and through my hair = love. Just sets my soul at ease.
I love this fence.. I would have taken a better picture but I didn’t want to LOOK like I was taking pictures of someones house…instead I took a shot on the sly which is totally equally creepy.
Dontcha love it though..beachy perfection.
The rest of the day was spent meeting with friends, a little shopping, drinking some Boba and finishing a DIY project (months in the making). I will try to share about THAT experience later in a special post.
All in all it was just one of those days where the sun was shining on everything I did and made it bright and happy and fulfilling.
This quote sums up yesterday – and pretty much everyday of my life – happy, happy happy.
” I still get wildly enthusiastic about the little things…I play with leaves. I skip down the street and run against the wind. “
Last night I FINALLY went for a run! and I am so glad I did! I am ‘supposed’ to be training for a half-marathon but haven’t been running too much as of late. I have still be working out but just not the hit the pavement run type of workout. So last night, my coworker, J was going for a run and I asked to join her! We did a little over 6 miles from our respective homes – down the great highway and back.
I was exhausted but in the best way possible and even this morning my legs are sore reminding me what its like to get out there and just do it!
Here are some pics I tried to take while running – thank God I didn’t twist my ankle or run into anyone while snapping these!
So thankful to live where I live.
