Here are a few of my favorite things from this past week!
SO lucky that I get to view this every day as I workout! Wake up an hour early to live an hour more!
What is better on a Monday night than copious amounts of Gin…?! LOL
With a friend visiting from out of town you tend to get out a little more and this is how I found myself enjoying Gin cocktails this past Monday at Whitechapel on Polk in SF. I am through and through a beer girl but I happened to pick two cocktails that were surprisingly great!
Lunch at Firebrand… SO GOOD. I want to live in this Bakery, so delectable.
Planning a SLO trip with my bestie! Filled with the very best things… blading, hikes, camping, breweries! YAY
Forbidden Island Tiki Bar in Alameda is always a fun spot! All about that Monkey Pod drink.
One of the most amazing Mochas in all the land… at Blue Bottle Cafe. Go and enjoy!
My all time fav backyard hike… not literally backyard but 10 minutes from my house. It is an amazing challenge with bay views and it never gets old to me!
Always trying to have no/less screen time once I get home from work… tried my hand at some watercolor painting and had a blast! I won’t be quitting my day job any time soon but its fun to try my hand at different hobbies!
1. A western section of Mexico City; site of the National astronomical observatory.
2. An amazingly delicious taqueria in Berkeley, Ca.
The fourth street area of Berkeley is a cute little shopping district with lots of shops and restaurants.
I have been to Tacubaya a few times and every time it is SO GOOD. Not only has everything I have tried been tasty but I always want to try numerous items because they all sound so unique and fresh and flavorful.
While this specific locale is bit of a trek from my house its always worth it to head over and be treated to some plate licking good meals.
Come here expecting quality and freshness, its not your so-cal Mexican food ( at least not in my opinion) but its delish in its own way. I really wish it was in my neighborhood.
Quesadilla with Goat cheese, queso fresco, beets, roasted jalapeno sauce with papitas.
Horchata. I can never say no to Horchata.
Cute table numbers.
Menu. Colorful, Seasonal, Wonderful.
I wanted to share with you a few of my favorite things that I have been loving this past week so that you may have the chance to enjoy them as well or at least be inspired to try something new.
My NEW all time favorite place to go for a latte is Illy. Especially on a rainy day after a hellacious week at work. I don’t know how I walked by this place for almost two years without going in, however I won’t dwell on that fact but rather make the most of experiencing the delicioushness as long as I can now that I know about it! If you have one near you – PLEASE – try it and if you don’t have one visit somewhere that does and make a point to latte it up. My fav flavor is Lavender Mint ( major yum ) but I also love the Vanilla Clove… uh oh now Im really craving one of these luscious lattes.
Cake Tasting at Sweet Adelines in Berkeley in preparation for my friend’s wedding. It was such a fun experience and the staff was SO wonderful… oh and the cake was REAL good. My choice was the carrot cake.
This amazing tree blooming in our backyard. I looked outside one day and it was bloomin’ and it was beautiful and exciting and sprintimey… and then the next week it was storming but at least we still have the tree.
Only the coolest dog park EVA, Point Isabel in Richmond. Like literally dog haven and human haven if you love dogs.
Finally, I whipped up a sweet treat to share with y’all that hopefully you can enjoy with a loved one this Valentines Day! ( I will be sharing the recipe on Wednesday)
I was meeting up with two of my very best friends in Berkeley for dinner – so I thought it would be a perfect time to try Sierra Nevada’s Torpedo Room.
Friendly staff, 16 beers on tap, you choose your flight, and great atmosphere.
It may be hard to get in the front door – handle is on the inside – but the difficulty is worth it.
Great, great selection of great, great beers. It was a nice place to catch up with friends and try some new beers.
I ended up taking a growler of Audition: Session IPA (not a normal IPA in my world) but I really really liked it, obvi enough to take home.
Oh you beautiful beers you… Ruthless Rye IPA, Audition: Session IPA, Bigfoot, Torpedo Extra IPA..
I will be back – especially since I will have to refill my growler!!
Bottom line: Go!
