Drink Vermont Beer!

Greetings from the land of Maple syrup, Cider, and Craft Beers! This little state sure has a whole lot to offer – be prepared to drink, eat, and then drink and eat some more. Better find a good hiking trail to burn it all off!

Here we are at the state capital – Montpelier!IMG_3537 You would think in a state popular for their pancakes and maple syrup we could easily find breakfast! Not the case at all. Some towns we rolled through didn’t even have anything open in the morning. One place we stopped had a two hour wait?! Finally we happened upon this tiny cute place in Montpelier. No wait and we had a delicious breakfast!IMG_3541 Here are some shots of Montpelier. IMG_3542 IMG_3543 IMG_3544 IMG_3551 State Building. IMG_3552 IMG_3555 Next stop, Ben and Jerry’s factory! And an opportunity to take funny pictures of my friends. They were good sports. 🙂IMG_3560 The Flavor Graveyard is a really funny cemetery for all the flavors that didn’t work out and they have stopped producing. IMG_3562 Next stop, Prohibition Pig. SUPER friendly staff, cool location and great beers! It sounds crazy but we did not eat here cause we were still full from breakfast but the food looked amazing – my beers were tasty and we got a growler to go!IMG_3563 Next stop we tried some cheese at Cabot. Probably one of the most unsanitary things ever but really fun to try different cheeses.IMG_3565Onto the Cider Mill but not just any cider mill, Cold Hollow Cider Mill. If I lived near this it would be dangerous! I would have diabetes in a hot minute – but man hot cider and cider donuts – I hope they serve this in heaven. Mmm tasty.
IMG_3566 IMG_3567 IMG_3568 We have all seen the Sound of Music right?? Well this spot will blow your mind. The Trapp Family settled here because it reminded them of their native Austria. The lodge itself is beautiful, but the surroundings are truly breathtaking and the brewskis are on point! Head to Trapp Family Brewery for a one of a kind experience.  I hope to stay here one day!IMG_3569 IMG_3571 IMG_3572 IMG_3573 I loved how traditional their brews were, very authentic, no crazy flavors here, just honest to goodness beer. IMG_3574 I couldn’t help myself – picture perfect. I can only imagine how beautiful it is in the winter!IMG_3578 Me and my Krausey – I am so lucky to have her as a friend. I know she loves me because she doesn’t complain ( too much) about taking me to try different breweries even though she is not a hop head. IMG_3587 IMG_3589 Last stop of the night was Lost Nation brewery, really amazing food, the beer prices were the most reasonable I have ever seen – not too mention delicious… Wooowie it was a flight to remember. IMG_3591 IMG_3593 IMG_3595 IMG_3599

That sums up my day in Vermont. Can’t wait to spend more time here in the future. There is so much more to do and see. Glad I got to sample what this Green Mountain state has to offer.

Coconut Oil: Nectar of the gods

Growing up, anything I liked a lot I would refer to as nectar of the gods.  I think coconut oil is my new nectar. It is editable and can be used as a beauty product.

IS A HABIT

If you have been reading the blog for awhile you know that I love Apple Cider Vinegar! My new love find is the one and only Coconut Oil.  Coconut Oil is truly a one stop shop.

It can be used in SO many ways. I have been using it day and night as moisturizer for my face. In the day, I also add an SPF to protect my skin but at night I add it straight on after I wash my face.

One of the biggest things I love about C.O. is that it takes my waterproof eye make up off way better than any eye make up remover I have ever had.

I use it occasionally as a deep conditioner but can not use it daily because my fine hair can not handle all the moisture.

I like using it when I am cooking instead of oil or butter.  I have been alerted that some do not like the taste of cooking with it, so I suggest trying it with an open mind!

Honestly though, this small list I have provided is only a fraction of all the uses for coconut oil. Check out Wellness Mama she has the ultimate list of coconut oil uses! I am totally going to have to try a few that I didn’t know about!!
