Indian Summer : Six Pack

With the temperatures here in California hotter than hot we are experiencing a full blown Indian Summer!

Because of this I figured there is still time to list out my favorite summer 6 pack.

Hopefully this weekend you can get out for an adventure and finish it with a cold brew.

Without further ado here is my Indian Summer Six Pack.

These beers are light and refreshing.  Enough to satisfy you but not so heavy that you can’t enjoy it when the temps are 90+.

21st Amendment Brewery | Hell or High Watermelon Wheat Beer has been a favorite of mine for many years. I have taken this beer on many floating and camping trips. I particularly enjoy it with a little slice of watermelon. It is a 4.9% beer so you can drink a few and it won’t take you out.

Something you won’t be able to pick up at home but worth a trip to Eastern Washington to drink up is the Colchuck Raspberry Wheat from Icicle Brewing Company. This raspberry wheat beer is a welcome adventure for your tastebuds to explore. Fruity but not fake or over the top, it is truly a unique delight.

screen-shot-2016-09-27-at-1-57-53-pmCali Creamin’ Vanilla Cream Ale from Mother Earth Brewery is best enjoyed on Nitro but a bottle or can will do for summer adventures. I had this beer a few years ago and then didn’t see it for awhile and now you can get it everywhere. I do highly reccomend going to Mother Earth Brewery in Vista, Ca… well worth the trip out there. The smell of this beer is all vanilla but for me the taste is not too sweet. I think they have done a good job of the just right balance between bitter and sweet.

The title explains it but this ale features lactose, milk sugar and honey malt. Beautiful amber pour and mildly sweet mouthful. Great for a hot night, maybe even a taco Tuesday!

Last but certainly not least, is the heaviest beer in my Indian Summer six pack, at 8.2% is the Love Child No. 7 from Boulevard Brewery. It isn’t the lightest beer but it has a delicious sour flavor that makes it ideal for warm summer nights. A great wild ale to sip slowly and really enjoy with friends.

I am excited for the cooler temperatures and all that the Fall brings but for now I will enjoy these warm days and nights and savor all my light summer beers!

Let me know if you have any recommendations for me to add to my pack this weekend!
