I am recently back from my trip to Massachusetts and have a lot to share! I stayed in Somerville which is really close to both Tufts and Harvard as well as a short Red Line trip away from Boston.
Harvard Yard. What dreams are made of… not mine but a lot of other peoples!
I think there is something really amazing about being somewhere so old with so much history. People that were on the titanic went to Harvard… comeon thats crazy!
Slumbrew is a fun brewery in Somerville. Not my favorite beers of the trip but I enjoyed the beer and atmosphere!
OMG Boston Burger Company. Get in my mouth. We tried ‘The King”peanut butter, bacon and fried bananas dusted in cinnamon and sugar “Vermonster” maple mayo, sharp cheddar cheese, carmelized granny smith apples, red onions, maple syrup, bacon
“Killer Bee”topped with american cheese, bacon, a stack of beer battered onion rings and honey BBQ sauce. Have a burger or three you will not be disappointed.
Boston, the old, the beautiful, the historical.
The new State House.
This may or may not be the oldest street. It is famous and cobbely.
A city with free sun screen?! I dig it… even if it got a little messy!
The Boston Public Library is amazing! I think I could spend some time here studying.
For Dinner we went to Stephanie’s on Newbury. It was a nice evening so we set out on the patio. I got a Shipyard Pumpkinhead with a sugar/cinnamon rim… I was skeptical but it was seasonally delish.
My first Lobster Roll it was really good!! I ate everything and was STUFFED.
Dessert! Not once but twice on this trip I went to Mike’s Pastry! This trip I ordered the Lobster Tail. The filling is outta this world.
Looking for a fun place to go for drinks in Boston? Head to Drink. Where you tell the waiter/waitress what you like and they bring you a cocktail of your dreams. Not more expensive than other places but a really fun atmosphere. The fries were also delicious.
Great Quote!
I like big brick buildings a lot!
The Lawn on D is free and fun for all ages and dogs too.
They have amazing hitech light up tire swing things, large jenga, bocce, corn hole, food and drink.
Next stop – Harpoon Brewery! I was pleasantly surprised at Harpoon. I was imagining a big corporate brewery which it is in a way but their beer options were very crafty.
and Pretzels!
The Barking Crab in Boston.
Were we hungry… not really, but we wanted more lobster. Lobster sliders and Lobster Mac n cheese.
LOL I made them do it!
Cool outdoor art installation.
That is a wrap for this post but the rest of the trip will be continued next week! Cheers.
